I ended up canceling my membership after 5 years at essential. The last 3 years it has really gone down hill. They no longer have staff on site for questions, phones are hardly answered when you do need someone, and the facility has a history of smelling really bad. It is the cheapest around, but you get what you pay for. They started renovating years ago and once they started they never finished. Things that are broken or need removed are just sitting by their garage doors. Their bathroom supplies are hardly stocked, they use gross hand air dryers now, the lights in one of the bathrooms hardly works, the shower looks iffy most times, and the equipment is okay. I enjoy going there when it isn't super packed with people. They have a little bit of everything I need for my workout plan. Would like to see a little more room for other equipment. The only complaint I have is nothing to do with the gym itself but some of the rude gym members that think they need to be seen and slam weights or drop the machine weights for attention. Not to mention all the ones that literally will sit on a machine and play on their phones, keeping others that are there to actually work out from using the machines. Or the group of people that just stand around talking and keep others from getting to equipment they need or want to use. I've seen... read full review

My favorite location between itself and the park hills one. I enjoy coming out for a good work out here and this place just feels like an actual gymnasium. It’s not overly fancy, it has all the equipment you could want, and it’s all very user friendly on top of the normal bench presses l, bar bells etc. they also normally have a good set of tunes playing to work out too as well
