I brought my mare Shot O Brandy in for ovariectomy due to worsening attitude and aggression (Thank you for accepting her despite her attitude). She started colicking overnight post-ovariectomy and had impaction colic surgery the next day. She spent 3 weeks recovering and got the best surgical and post-op care from Dr. McCracken, Dr. McClanahan and the whole staff. Thank you for taking excellent care of her!

We are always very satisfied when we have to work with MU Veterinary Food Animal Clinic. We especially enjoy our interactions with Dr. Rivero and his interns. He always listens to our concerns and works to understand our unusual breed of Icelandic Leadersheep. We are given options for care of our animals, and possible outcomes for any choices are explained. We feel our animals receive outstanding care, so we always think of this clinic first when we have a need on our farm.

MU Vet Med Hospital is amazing. Not only do they provide excellent service for tough cases, they do it by spending time and assessing the situation. I cannot say enough about Dr Rachel and Matt.

MONEY HUNGRY!!! they charged for everything and i mean every little thing, i understand vets are expensive and dogs are expensive, but i felt very over charged and manipulated. They wanted to play the waiting game by giving false hope just to get more MONEY, opinions changed every 30mins, prices changed every 30 mins, kept trying to change our decision just to get us out of more money when in reality they knew what would be best, worse place ever, definitely need a better financial plan and better instructors. Better communicators, con artists, not only that we drove 3 hours away and when it was time to put our dog down, we had to pay $1200 not to mention we around paid $2500, it’s ridiculous, they called one time and said it would be best to put him down, and then turns around and say it’s up to us bc basically he can be saved, then when we called back to make the decision to put our dog down, they called back 20 mins later and says he is not doing so good, which i dont understand, when you just said our dog had a fighting chance, they are money hunger and cause us so much money just to put our dog to rest, and they wasn’t going to put him to rest into we paid, this is ridiculous, i’m hurt and upset. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN AND EVENTUALLY IS GOING TO HAVE A LAWSUIT COMING!

My baby girl developed lung cancer. They treated her and the people I actually met who helped us were pretty kind in person but overall, their facility and staff left a bad taste in my mouth after asking me if I wanted to discuss further treatment options for my girl WITHOUT disclosing that the consultation would cost more on top of the $8,000 + surgery. When we went for a recheck post surgery, I was told that her recheck exam was part of the surgery cost but then I was charged for it. When I called to inquire about the charge, an employee told me it wasn’t the recheck exam that cost more but the consultation yet no one communicated that prior to when they asked me if I wanted to discuss options. It was strange because when they asked, my mother was with me in the room and I looked over at her and then at the staff member and was like well of course I’m happy to know more about what could be done for my girl. But if they had asked if I wanted to discuss further options for a fee I would have opted to do the research on my own. We didn’t end up moving forward with either option anyway and had already spent so much. I didn’t need to pay more for a conversation. While I understand that everyone’s time is valuable as well as their expertise, it’s imperative to be up front with costs and not tag them on after the fact. Furthermore, we didn’t even have a consultation with experts as they were busy at the time. It ended up being a student who lead the consultation. That’s even more unfair. For example, if I were to get my hair done by an expert hairdresser it always costs more than someone just learning. While I knew the cost of surgery and was willing to pay that and while they were up front about that, they failed to communicate that a 30-40 minute consultation would be even more money. THEY HAVE BEEN HECKLING ME SINCE THE SURGERY TO PAY FOR THIS CONSULTATION despite my attempts to have a conversation with one of the heads of the department who only attempted to call me back twice and has since disregarded and ignored me and threatened collectors. I paid thousands for the surgery and now I’m being threatened with collectors for a $130 consultation bill that I wasn’t aware of and that wasn’t even performed by experts. Plus interest! GREEDY GREEDY GREEDY. Ultimately, it is clear that they are more concerned with money than they are with the animals in their care and the trust from their owners. THE LACK OF INTEGRITY LEAVES A VERY DECEITFUL TASTE IN MY MOUTH AND HAS ME HEAVILY QUESTIONING WHETHER THEY REALLY ARE ABOUT ANIMALS OR IF ULTIMATELY THEY ARE A BUSINESS ABOUT BUSINESS.

Our crazy little chihuahua saw the Cardiology service for a routine echocardiogram to monitor her heart disease. She had a great report and was very well taken care of by Dr. McManamey & her student, Caileigh! They were so patient and we were able to avoid sedating her by giving her lots of Churus. We were so happy with the service & quality of care she (and we) received that day.
