Nurses, PT, OT, case worker were awesome. Facility was clean. Food was terrible, often cold. Communication with doctors was not great. I did feel talked down to while advocating for my mom. I waited 3 days for the medical director to call me and on day three I happened to catch him in my mom's room. Often times they would do some type of test and they would give the results to the patient who often times didn't understand (she's 87 with hearing issues). No call with results to family members. PT staff knowledgeable and friendly. Always giving good feedback to make sure patient is performing the exercises correctly. Nrsg staff knowledgeable and kind. Cleaning staff works very hard to keep the facility nice!!
My mother spent two weeks at Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital in St. Louis in mid February, and overall we had a very positive experience. Recovery after a major injury can be overwhelming, but many members of the team helped make the process feel manageable and supportive.
Several staff members stood out for their kindness, attentiveness, and encouragement throughout the stay. We are especially grateful to Tiffany, Jeanne, Jayla, Jessie, Joe, Cornelius, Darius, and Kim, along with Brooke (physical therapist), who all took the time to provide thoughtful care and encouragement during recovery.
