Unity House is a treatment facility for severe and persistent mental illness. The experience of a sustained stay is described as humanizing and having the potential to heal. The staff is noted as being very helpful, caring, and kind, but also strict. They teach patients how to deal with mental health issues and help them get their head on straight. Some practitioners pour their hearts into their work, though others can seem cold. The rules and regulations are restrictive due to past violations. Rooms are private, but staff checks are constant and can disrupt sleep. The program, especially the 90-day option, is labor intensive and exhausting. It is recommended for those serious about recovery, with many expressing gratitude for reconnecting with their true self and inner values.
As with most mental health facilities, some of the practitioners are cold and uncaring while others pour their hearts into their work. One significant pro is that the rooms are private. Just be aware that the staff will constantly be checking on you if you are in your room alone. Sometimes this disrupts sleep and they will not care about leaving your door open and the light shining in.
If you are coming here due to legal reasons or need to just escape the traumas of modern living, I do think that a few weeks stay has the potential to heal much.
Doing the 90 day program, though, of course, is labor intensive and exhausting.

I hope this place can redirect other peoples lives the way it redirected mine. I don’t recommend going to unity house if you’re not 100% serious about treating your mental health recovery.
