About Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA
The Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA is a community hub in Willmar with programs for individuals and families. The facility includes a big gymnasium with basketball hoops and a running track, treadmills, a weight room, and racketball courts. There are two indoor pools, one for kids with a big slide and one for adults. People enjoy the convenience, reasonably priced family membership, and the variety of strength and cardio equipment. Youth programs like swimming and basketball are appreciated, with children making progress and learning skills. Some concerns involve class management for little kids in activities like gymnastics, where big groups and long lines can be challenging for very young children. There is also feedback about age restrictions for certain activities. A complaint notes membership price increases, including one instance without clear communication. Overall, it is seen as more than just a gym, offering a place for health, connections, and youth development.
I'm thankful the Willmar YMCA is close to where I live. I like their exercise machines, and there are plenty so there is no waiting time. Angela is one of the staff people and she has been very kind, helpful and friendly! It is a comfortable environment in which to work out, and there's a good assortment of weights. (My only recommendation would be to reduce the volume of the music they play in the gymnasium in the evenings.) I love the temperature of the pool, as it's warm and easy to acclimate to. The lifeguards are kind and attentive. Thank you to each person that works at the Y for helping it to be a great destination for fitness.
All the places I go except for the exercising they made it. I’m just gonna give you four star cause you have to be 12 years old to do it and and that’s sad. You don’t let other people like just like just let like 1011 and 12 years old and other ages like 10 years old 11 years old 12 years old 13 years old and age besides when you’re little you cannot let when you’re 12345678 or nine years old. OK thank you giving me four stars
The kids had fun but I wish the teachers in the gymnastics class gave the little kids more direction and helped them in line so that everyone could get a turn. Kind of big groups and long lines for my 3 year old to get anything out of it.
