“I highly recommend Vadnais Heights Family Dentistry for any of your dental needs. I had a very bad experience with a dentist growing up in the 70's/80's and Vadnais Heights Family Dentistry is the only place I will go, and I have been a patient with them for almost 30 years. I recently needed to have a permanent tooth pulled and I felt nothing. Dr. Determan numbed my tooth up good and was very carefully extracting the tooth. I have gone to all 4 of the dentists at this practice and there is not one I would not recommend for any dental needs. Also, the company that I work for changed their dental insurance plan and now Vadnais Height is out of my network for I do have some out of network benefits. That’s what I said when I walked in. I have fought through a sea of dental offices to get honest and friendly dental work without feeling pressure by the staff to secure more sales on unnecessary things.

If you have had this experience, try this office. I was met with a fantastic reception team. Brittany is great, she means serious business and aims to make the process feel routine to calm your nerves. The other woman, whose name I wish I had gotten, at the counter was amazing as well, and saw through my anxiety to make me feel seen when asking even more questions about insurance coverage. 10/10

Dr. Splett is the dentist I saw, and Ed was his Dental Assistant today. When brought in, I sat down and chatted with Dr. Splett about my dental goals, Ed did a full x-ray work up while gabbing with me which helped again with my nerves, and together they completed an exam.

Not only did I never feel pressure to talk about anything I didn’t want to, I felt like I was connecting with actual, empathetic peers, as opposed to a number or a time slot. It’s also nice that they grinded down some teeth that were sharp, hurting my tongue regularly. The relief is indescribable.

This is where I will be going for my dental work knowing it’s safe to say what I need, and that I will get the care that is correct for my needs.
