I was told my brothers internment was $1400 in 2022. That I had to have it paid, We had Graves we owned and were paid off worth $2495 in 2022. I only had $800 for his internment. So I had to give them my grave to which they agreed giving me a receipt paid in full for internment in lieu of me giving them graveside back. I found out they collected $700 more from Bradshaw from county buriel fund. I could of gave them $700 more not the grave or $1400 they told me. I had additional $700 instead of a family grave site.They didn't refund me $700 that they were overpaid i covered the bill with a receipt saying internment paid in full with grave. It's hard to explain how much Oakland cemetery has ment to me I grew up on Atwater street in st. paul my brother walked almost everyday in the cemetery the wonderful staff in their got to know him well he would say his rosary as he walked .I would pick him up and take him out for coffee. after his walks.he liked that.my brother pat who has passed on also liked Oakland it seemed to be the place as kids we found peace and quiet in our lives. our mother also loved that place.lots of ? birds squirrels rabbits to watch.we all liked the wildlife even a ? deer once and a while. you can see how much this place ment to us. It was 4:20 and you close at 4:30. I came all the way from Blaine to drop off something and was told I couldn't because they were closing and kicking everyone out... I said I just needed to drop something off quick, but nope. What a joke...Just change your hours to closed at 4:20pm or 4pm.
