I have studied Karate and Kobudo (Japanese weapons) for over 20 years here. The facilities are good with both a cushioned hardwood floor and padded floor for the different styles. There is a wide variety of styles taught here by excellent instructors. Highly recommended for people looking to get into the Martial Arts!

I have trained in Taekwondo for several years at MAFCI. I started additional training in TaiChi and Qi Gong with Gretel Quinones following a knee injury to strengthen my joints and improve my movements to avoid future injury. Anyone can gain physical and mental health benefits from Gretel's lessons.

Tai Chi: I have done Judo for years and lost my Rochester Club. A Judo hand technique showed in a class of Sifu Gretal. She showed me in 15 minutes what fifteen years did not advance. Her extensive experience and knowledge are revealed in gems understood and instructions followed. I am not a good follower. She has managed to make me better. She is not soft or easy. Practice outside of classes is important. Tai Chi has added value and routine. I am working on balance and breathing.
