We found Joyful Companions when Scott's mother required some oversight and support to safely live in an independent setting. She developed a good relationship with a number of the caregivers and the agency was very reasonable to work with. With their help, Scott's mother was able to remain in her apartment for over a year. Once her conditions necessitated 24 hour care, we continued to utilize the caregivers, who were extremely valuable for their emotional support and advocacy amidst a challenging environment. We are certain that Joyful Companions extended and enhanced her later years and will be forever grateful for that.
This is a short review unfortunately. My Mom who lives in Eagan, Minnesota went through Joyful Companions intake process, but found out that there isn't but one person serving the Eagan area. Being Joyful Companions is located in Plymouth, Minnesota wouldn't be suitable for my Mom's needs. She did like what she saw during the process just not enough staffing was the only issue. The process was professional and courteous from my Mom's perspective.
Joyful Companions has been an absolute blessing to our family. Their companion care allowed our loving and fiercely independent mother, who had growing cognitive care needs, to remain safely in her home for several months while we searched for the right long-term living arrangement. We started with five mornings a week, and to our great relief, our mom immediately connected with her caregiver, Betty. Betty’s gentle, thoughtful approach put our mother at ease from day one, and we were amazed that she welcomed the daily visits without resistance.
