While traveling from out of state, and in South Dakota, our dog Chummy broke his leg. We went to a fantastic emergency vet there, however unfortunately they were not able to fix this sort of a fracture. They contacted your emergency vet and we drove through the night to get him there, arriving at 2am. We were immediately met with your caring staff, and he was quickly addressed. We left him in great hands! We were kept updated on everything that was happening, and he came out of the surgery great! We can't thank you all enough, for everything that you did for him, and us! AERC saved my cat’s life, point blank. I was referred to AERC by my local vet, who wasn’t sure what was wrong with my cat but recognized he was really sick, and said his best bet was to be taken to AERC immediately.
An hour and a half drive later, we arrived at AERC and were seen by a tech who immediately took my cat back to be evaluated and began running tests. Shortly after, I met with the vet, who explained everything - what the tests were showing, what they thought was happening, and what they wanted to do. We brought our dog here for cardiology care and ultimately end of life care. I genuinely believe he received the best of care in the ICU, and was treated very humanely and made very comfortable during his final moments. All of the staff were patient, kind, empathetic, and respectful of our grief. At a very difficult time, it was helpful to know that he was being treated with the same love and attention that he received at home.
