North Mankato Animal Hospital

All staff treat our dog with such wonderful care. They’re attentive and so kind. They also get back to you so quickly and are incredibly thorough. Highly recommend!

We took our cat to North Mankato Animal Hospital because of the good reviews and the short distance from home. Our poor cat was twitching tremendously to the point where he couldn’t walk, kept howling in pain, and just looked sickly. They did “lab” tests and said everything was fine. They just said he had “neurological issues” and gave us Gabapentin. They gave such a high amount of Gabapentin that it would just put him to sleep, not actually solve any problems. We couldn’t split it in half either because it was a capsule. They told us to give it to him for 10 days and it would solve the problem (which they didn’t even tell us what the root cause of the issue was). We did not give the Gabapentin to him for 10 days straight because we noticed no change in his unusual behavior, and we realized that it only put him to sleep. Then, we went to Kind Veterinary Clinic, and they immediately found an issue. It turns out our cat had calcium deficiency, and if we didn’t do anything about it, he would have died. Of course, we brought up the lab testing that North Mankato Animal Hospital did, and it turns out that they also knew that he had calcium deficiency. I guess they didn’t think to tell us because they didn’t think it was important, or they thought it would be a waste of their precious time to tell us. Either way, they lied to us by saying that the test results came back fine when they clearly did not. We’re very thankful that we found Kind Veterinary Clinic instead because they took the time to analyze his condition. Even now, they’re trying to figure out if there’s anything else that could’ve caused our cat’s twitching and aggressive cleaning.

I’m telling everyone who’s reading this: do NOT go to North Mankato Animal Hospital. They do not care about you or your pet, and they just want your money. They will make sure you spend as much money as possible for a temporary solution, and if your pet is going through a crisis, they WILL die if you rely on North Mankato Animal Hospital.

The staff is incredible. I mean incredible. The love and care that they put into taking care of my kitty before, during, and after surgery makes my heart feel full. They explained everything they’d be doing for surgery in detail so I knew exactly what I was getting my kitty into. They even called a day after surgery to check to see how recovery was going! I can’t recommend them enough. They are such kind, wonderful people and I will be switching from my old vet to them 100%.

Thanks to everyone for being so supportive and responsive while caring for our dog. He had a severe infection and all of the staff responded with compassion and urgency! I can’t thank you enough!!

Very welcoming team and didn’t feel rushed during the appointment. They took their time with the exam, answered questions and were very helpful showing best way to administer the meds.

My cat is hesitant around strangers, she does so well here, no stress and no worries about care!
