Absolutely amazing experience.
My dad and I had walk-in haircut at 4PM yesterday. The dad goes to the same hairdresser in VN for over 15 years, so he is very particular about his haircut. The owner, Kim, totally impressed him with her skills and her attention to details.
Meanwhile, I need a haircut cause I chopped it on my own and definitely made a mess. Kim did an excellent job at a soft layer cut. She knows what she is doing.
WILL COME BACK ?
I have been going to this location since I was a preteen and now I’m approaching my college years! The haircuts done by Trang always turn out exactly how I want them to, and the style stays for awhile even if my hair begins to grow out. She’s also a great conversationalist. I’ve had her do my hair when I was an “edgy” middle schooler, and now when I’m much more laidback. She’s always been able to accurately replicate trendy styles or understand what I want even when I have varying wishes or a confusing explanation.
People are talking about “long waits” and stuff but haircuts take time, and I honestly have never had to wait more than 10 minutes....read full review
Being mixed, and originally being from a small town, it was always super hard finding people who know how to properly treat and care for my hair. I have Caucasian/Asian combination hair, that's extremely thick. A couple months ago, I initially came to Mai Hoa after having a couple stylists just absolutely Destroy my peekaboo blonde. At the time it was completely uneven, and very yellow, and banded horribly. I've always gotten the same stylist, and I somehow always manage to forget to ask for her name, but she's always so incredibly kind and does such a wonderful job. She used to have light purpleish hair but since then she's dyed it back to her natural color. Not to mention at the time her (and who I think is Kim?) completely fixing my hair!! And since then I've come to Mai Hoa regularly to get my roots retouched and hair re-toned. It's such a validating and wonderful feeling having people know how to take care of you in a way that you've never experienced before! The vibe in there is always so fun and feels like a small family. Needless to say after going here a couple of times, I don't see myself leaving anytime soon!
