I was looking for an Asian salon to cut my Asian hair and based on the reviews here I asked for Kim. She was great! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she went right to it. I left very happy with the service and my cut. I can't even believe how inexpensive the prices here are for the quality - $15 for a Men's cut is practically haircut chain pricing but with a lot of attention to detail and quality. I'll be getting my hair cut here from now on.
I requested Kim for a woman's haircut based on some of the reviews I saw, and she was great. I made an appointment the day before, was a little bit late, and then had to wait a bit, but I usually plan to be at a salon for about an hour and half so it was no problem for me. She also apologized for the wait multiple times. She washed and cut my hair, someone else helped dry my hair while she attended to someone else, and then she returned and cut my hair again when it was dry to make some adjustments and make sure I got anything else I wanted. All of the service was attentive and they all checked in from time to time to ask/confirm what I wanted (certain style in the back, straight or messy ends, more layering, length, etc). Overall pleased with the service and my hair and the experience for such a great price point. I paid $30 for my thick long hair for a layered haircut, and left $15 as a tip since the price point was so great and I was happy with the results, and considering the service/results were just as great as any $50-120 cut I think that's an appropriate amount. Reminded me of some of the local Korean hair salons in k-town back in New Jersey. It's not a super well polished chic looking interior that looks like a spa where they give you face towels and lotions and robes and all kinds of expensive products for your hair. They speak in their native language half the time (but all of their English was great also, no problems there) and some things look a little worn but they are attentive and polite and communicative with the whole process and that's what's important to me. It was a snowy weekday afternoon so it was pretty quiet. Parking is a little hard.
I was a woman with fine, thin, straight, short hair just like me. Unlike me, her hair looked amazing. She told me Nam has cut her hair for years. I went yesterday for the first time. Nam was very nice and I LOVE the haircut. Last cut was st a very posh salon and the experience was lovely. However, this is a better cut and it was $60 less. Thank you Nam. See you in 5 weeks.
