I’ve thought long and hard about this review. Mainly because in a small town, a small town vet should be appreciated for what they do. But after my last two experiences with them (and now experiencing a large city vet and the difference), I felt like I needed to say something. For routine care, vaccinations, etc, I think they did a OK job. Nothing fancy. Got the job done. For anything that is not routine, I’d go elsewhere. First incident happened when I brought my dog in for a joint shot (something we do monthly with them), and they gave her the wrong injection. Not only that, they didn’t weigh her until after the injection was given (you need weight to know dosage). They apologized and gave her the correct injection afterwards, still charged me for the planned injection. The second incident is when I brought my dog in with a swollen hock. First vet didn’t know what to do. Called in second vet who said it was windpuffs. Simple exam done. No xray done. Sent home and told to ice it and use pain management. fast forward 4 months later, and after finding a new vet, we just amputated the leg after the hock was found to have cancer in it. We were fortunate that we caught it before it spread. Everyone makes mistakes. No one is perfect. I get it. But the new vet that looked at the same hock recognized at least an xray needed to be done and was able to help us make sure we got many more years with our dog. The incorrect injection issue shows continued lack of attention to detail.

They'll tell you one price over the phone then charge you more. I brought up the discrepancy and she just ignored it. Not great customer service. I'd use the other vet in town.

I got great help from a lady on the phone. I believe her name was Brenna. She went out of her way to help me and I greatly appreciate it!

Community Animal Hospital is the best vet clinic in our area. Dr.Maria is very thorough, caring, gentle and understanding. She and her staff has always been very kind and informative and are willing to answer any questions one may have. We take our 2 dogs and 2 cats to this hospital and will never go elsewhere again. Pricing is fair but I've never felt that they were all about money unlike the other clinic in our town. Very grateful to Dr.Maria and her staff.

Everyone polite and friendly. They were able to get me in on a pass through for a health certificate as my local vet retired.
