Dr Mattson is wonderful! He spent quite a bit of time with me as I was experiencing several different issues. I was anxious about what I was going through, but felt reassured that I was in good care. I talked with Lisa the most, but all the front staff are very friendly.

Local Warning: My Experience at Lakeville Eyecare
I want to share what happened to me recently at Lakeville Eyecare so others in our community are aware — and hopefully can avoid the same situation.
I went in and gave them my healthcare insurance card, not a vision card. They told me I wasn’t covered for contacts or glasses because they didn’t find me under VSP and I was about to leave. But a staff member litterally snatched the card out of my hand and said they could still do the eye exam with it, so I scheduled an appointment.
A few days later, they said they left me a voicemail saying I wasn’t covered and would need to pay out of pocket — but I never got that message. When I arrived for my appointment, they never brought it up, and instead asked for my card again and said they needed to hold onto it until the appointment was over. I found out about the message when I was presented with the bill and was told I have to pay out of pocket. When I raised concern the woman at the front desk told me I see you were left a message about not being covered and you’ll pay out of pocket. Why wasn’t this brought up when they took my card again?
I told them I did not want a contact lens fitting, just a basic eye checkup. After the exam, they told me they went ahead and did the contact fitting anyway, and now I owed nearly $500 (with a “discount” bringing it down to $300+ for same-day payment).
While I was explaining how upset I was, something unexpected happened: the only other person in the waiting room — a woman — got up and canceled her appointment on the spot. When they asked why, she said:
"Clearly it seems like you’re ripping people off."
And she walked straight out the front door.
To that woman — thank you. Your reaction said everything. Lakeville eye care will lose business over deceptive practices.
When I told the woman at the front desk that my two kids — who’ve both gotten glasses and contacts here — will never be returning, and neither will I, the woman asked me, “Well, what do you want us to do?”
I told her, “I guess there is nothing I can do,” laid my card on the counter, paid, and left.
And here’s what really hits home:
The name Lakeville Eyecare uses the name of our community — Lakeville — yet they’re conducting business in a deceptive, misleading way that doesn’t reflect the honesty and trust people in this area value.
I’ve never made a post like this and never left a bad review in my life.

I had an urgent need to be seen because I experienced a cut in my eye. I called Lakeville Family Eye Care and asked if they had any same day appointments available for a new patient. I explained my situation and they got me in two hours later. The patient care I received from my initial call through my exam with the exceptional Dr. Cassin, was top notch! Thank you, LFEC! I’ve now found my new eye clinic!
