With rapidly inflating home costs, real estate agents at large are receiving bloated commissions for doing substantially automated work using processes that are extensively managed and controlled by the real estate industry. A house that now costs 2X what it did 5 years ago does not take 2X the work to sell - but the industry is more than happy to keep using the existing model as long as the general public believes this is how it is supposed to work.
