“I have reviewed this business before (5 stars) and wanted to update after seeing some negative reviews regarding ECV. Some of the negative reviews revolved around Dr. Amy Buckmeier. For those of you considering coming to ECV and are reading reviews, please understand that Dr. Buckmeier is only one doctor there. I had her for just one visit (I have been a client there since 2003, so for 23 years) and I will not see her again. So, while the negative reviews about Dr. Buckmeier are correct, from my experience, there are many other fantastic doctors at the Cambridge clinic. I cannot speak for the Mora clinic though; we don’t go there.
These are the doctors I have seen most recently.
Dr. Megan Trauba – excellent doctor and really cares about your pets; takes time to talk to you and performs a very thorough wellness exam. I would highly recommend her
Dr. Laura Byers – she did the x-rays for my fur baby when she was pregnant. I have not had her at a regular vet appointment but really liked the care she took with my baby during the x-ray procedure. Plus, she does nutrition work, so I check with her on feeding and supplements.
Dr. Amy Buckmeier – does not seem to enjoy the animals and does try to upsell throughout an appointment. The upsell would not be so bad if she liked her patients. I do not recommend an appointment with her.
Dr. Kendra Newman – very nice lady, takes time to talk to you and address your concerns. But you have to ask. Her wellness exam on two of my pets was cursory at best; the things Dr. Trauba checks for I had to ask Dr. Newman to check for. It seemed as if she just did the same things the tech did and nothing more. It isn’t that she doesn’t care; I believe she truly does care about the animals. I just don’t think we will schedule with her again because she was not thorough. Twice.
Best techs (I have not had all of them so can only review the techs I have seen)
Dani P. (DP) – she always treats my dogs as if they are her favorites (I am sure she makes all the animals feel that they are her favorites 😊) I cannot say enough about how great her personality is. She is fantastic with the dogs. Always try to get her if you can.
Tanaya R. – her love of animals is almost as prominent as Dani’s. Tanaya is fantastic with all my dogs and makes them, well, maybe just me, feel welcomed and that she is happy to see us. I would try to get her if Dani is not available.
Jett – nice but not very engaging. Just the facts, no chatting, just down to business. Neither negative nor positive, just her personality I think
Jordan W. – she is one of the receptionists we have seen; she was very nice and seemed to like to engage with my dogs. A good person to have at the reception desk and very prompt in responding to emails.
Those are the staff and doctors I remember the most.
I have never experienced the phone ringing and not being answered. I have had the call sent to a waiting queue because the receptionist was on another line, but the call was answered when she was off the other line. For those reviewers saying the phones are never answered, I don’t know what y’all are doing but the calls to the Cambridge clinic have always been answered for me. Be sure you are calling during working hours.
I find most of the staff and doctors engaging and nice to work with and they really seem to care about my dogs. So, if you are considering bringing your pet to ECV but are worried about some of the negative reviews, keep in mind that it is sometimes the client’s fault but they blame the business instead. For your first visit (if they are taking new clients) I would recommend Dr. Trauba. Try to get Dani or Tanaya for a vet tech. You will not be disappointed.”
