Jim is a friendly, highly knowledgeable and skilled contractor. I hired him to excavate about 100 feet of my yard to replace a flimsy old pipe that drains a natural spring out to the road. It was clogged with tree roots and kept backing up and flooding my yard. Jim spent quite a bit of time inspecting the issue and assessing the project to give me an estimate. Everything from paperwork to communications were handled very professionally. Office staff were nice and helpful. They got all the utilities out to flag the various underground lines around my property for safety as is required. We called them last year when our septic was having issues and when they came out discovered that they could not access both caps of our system because the previous homeowner had built a deck over it. But they did not charge for the wasted trip out, which was so appreciated! We ended up discovering that we had backup into the house because of a blockage in the main leading out to the system and were able to clear it on our own.

Great experience working with Jim and his wife Meghan. We had a project that needed excavation within a few days and they were able to accommodate us. Kovalak Excavating also has reasonable rates and the service is excellent!. We will be using them again most definitely in the future!
