About Sanctuary Lake Golf Course
The Sanctuary Lake Golf Course offers a varied and enjoyable golfing experience, with a nice layout featuring a range of hole types and some elevation changes. The course is generally well-maintained, with greens, tee boxes, and fairways in great shape even towards the end of the season. The course may be a little more challenging than the rating suggests, making it a good test for the average golfer. The staff are reported to be pleasant, and the hot dogs at the turn are a highlight. The course has received positive reviews, with one visitor noting that it was still well-kept even on one of the last days of the season. The layout is praised, with many tee boxes having a high elevation. While the cart paths can be long and cross through other tee boxes, this did not negatively impact the experience. Another reviewer described the course as one of the better municipal courses in the metro Detroit area, with a slower pace of play but a full grass range with no distance restrictions. The only downside mentioned was the significant use of fertilizer, which resulted in the greens having a distinct teal color.
Great course. Staff from starters to club house were very friendly. The contour of the course is fun. Conditions are great. They have a driving range to warm up at. Definitely want to make another trip out.
Love this course, even if it's built on a landfill! Used to be my home course so I've played it a bunch. Not a big links style guy but this one is fun. Greens could be a bit faster but that's pretty much my only complaint.
A group of us drove over from Windsor to play in a tournament here. We loved it. Beautiful views, fairways were well kept and the greens were challenging but in great shape. Will definitely be coming back here!
