Martial Arts Schools near Oxford picked by BestProsInTown
“My son loved his first class. We watched the class and we LOVE it too. The instructor, Ms.Jen, was amazing! We also love that they teach loyalty to your country and respect your parents and instructors. That's not even being taught in schools anymore. Ms.Ginger, the dojeng manager, is very helpful and patient with all my questions. We are very grateful for this Karate school! God bless PKSA! ??”
“I’ve been training at the Douvris TaeKwon-Do Waterford location on Walton Blvd for the past two years, and it’s hands-down the most incredible martial arts experience I’ve ever had! Tucked right in the heart of Waterford Township, this spot has been a community staple for over 25 years, and you can feel that legacy the second you step through the doors—clean, spacious mats, top-notch equipment, and an energy that’s equal parts motivating and welcoming.
The instructors here are absolute legends: certified black belts who don’t just teach kicks and forms; they pour genuine passion into every class, making sure you build real skills in self-defense, discipline, and confidence. Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned practitioner, their programs for kids (starting at age 4) and adults are tailored perfectly—no ego, just progress. I love the flexible scheduling that fits around my busy life, and the small class sizes mean you get that personal attention that keeps you coming back week after week.
Since joining, I’ve dropped stress like it’s my old uniform, gained killer core strength, and even improved my focus at work. It’s more than Taekwondo—it’s a family vibe that lifts you up. If you’re in Waterford or nearby, do yourself a favor and sign up for a free trial. Douvris isn’t just amazing; it’s life-changing. Highly recommend to everyone—grab your dobok and join the fun! ?✨”
