15-20 years ago, I met Dr. Douglas Totten. I grew up legally blind and poor, without a lot of resources or help for my visual difficulties due to Marfan Syndrome. When I walked into Dr. Totten's office, my life changed. He took the time, made the effort, and changed my life. Because of him and his efforts, I was propelled forward and able to accomplish what I was always told would be impossible for me. I drive, I lead a normal life, I am now working on my second Master's degree and am working to help others as an addiction counselor and soon to be therapist in Kansas. I have looked forever to find an eye doctor in Michigan who focuses on prevention and eye health. Dr. Totten was so amazing and takes pictures of your retina as a regular part of care and not just when there is a problem. That is something that is hard to find in our area.I felt that his exam was incredibly thorough.He was also fun to chat with and seems like a really great person. The office is clean and has a great vibe. I'd highly recommend this office if you're looking for a new eye doctor!
