“Brenda at The Family Barbershop is truly something special. She cut all three of my kids’ hair on Friday, and I cannot say enough good things about both her skill and the experience she created.

My 3-year-old has never allowed anyone other than me to cut his hair after a bad experience last year. Brenda understood him immediately - she got right down on his level, took the time to figure out what made him nervous, and gently helped him see there was nothing to be afraid of. While she is incredibly gentle, she’s also calm and confidently firm in an almost teacher-like way that kids respond so well to.

For my 1-year-old, this was his very first haircut, and he didn’t make a single peep the entire time. And my 5-year-old daughter? She walked out saying she only wants Brenda to cut her hair from now on.

He only cuts men’s hair, only uses cash and appointments can only be made over the phone but his service is the best in Detroit. I believe each cut is $20, which is incredibly cheap compared to other places in the area.
