The course was in great shape except for the tee boxes. I played whites and some were rough. I didn’t ding them for that. The course is very challenging. I lost 8 balls, most on shots that weren’t that bad. They rolled into the heather and that was it. #6?had a big tree in the middle of the fairway. Tough for me and worst for the women’s tees. They had nowhere to hit except at the tree. Again, I didn’t ding them on this either- still gave 4 stars because the people were friendly, the course was well-maintained, and the course was challenging.
September 2024
This is such a fun beautiful course. There were hills and interesting holes that made you think on the best way to attack them. Greens were pure and tricky at times which was great. I have paid double for courses that were not as good as this course, Glenkerry is a steal of a deal. Carts also have screens which was an added bonus. Pace of play was 4:30/4:45 for weekend morning tee time. Will certainly be back.
Pros: value, greens, layout, course conditions
Cons: tee boxes a little rough in some areas, can be confusing where to go or where to hit towards in some areas due to lack of signage.
September 2024
The vast majority of golfers cannot play a hole in 7 or 8 minutes. Yesterday was absurdly backed up, I paired up with a couple of fellas to try to break up the monotony of waiting, we ended up with 8 people sitting behind us on hole 17 while we waited for the fairway to clear. Not sure if people are also playing in groups of 6 and 8 or what, but certain days seem way overbooked. I always set a tee time before I come out to play and almost always I am stuck smack dab behind slow players and almost never can tee off on time. I wonder if the tee times could be spaced out a bit more.
