Update: After reading other reviews, its clear you’ve left other people dissatisfied as well. Why bother implementing an automated reminder system in your business if you’re going to complain about it? Your rescheduling policy is ineffective and pushing away business in a small community. Reaching out to reschedule 23 hrs and 55 minutes ahead of an appointment is reasonable. Congratulations, it’s a whole 5 minutes less than 24 hours. Driving away business is really worth that 5 minutes? Don’t apologize for recommending another stylist: I’m happy to stay away from you.

Original Post - Rude!!!! Cannot recommend Ali at Motor City Hair Witch to anyone. Tried to reschedule an appointment within 5 minutes of getting the reminder text, and received text messages saying “half of the bill is owed, per the cancellation policy”. When trying to explain the situation, she became personally insulating, and told me not to come back. Seriously??? Whats the point of the reminder text if I can’t respond to reschedule???? Tried to reschedule as soon as the reminder came through, stylist waited 45 minutes to respond!!!!! Cancellation policies are understandable, this is a person’s income. But not having any grace period to reschedule is unprofessional. As per her request, I will NEVER come back, and suggest that everyone in my community to boycott as well.

I scheduled an appointment with Ali for my sister-in-law to have her hair done before her wedding and Ali couldn’t have been more accommodating, communicative and kind! Both my SIL and myself had a lovely time, and my SIL absolutely LOVES her hair. It’s made her both comfortable and confident. Highly recommend working with Ali, she’s fantastic!

I have visited Ali several times and it has been hit or miss on the cut, but typically good experiences which is why I kept coming back. My last haircut was a miss so I messaged Ali and she made an appointment to fix it no charge, told me she had no plans in the evening and it would only take a few minutes to fix. Due to accident traffic I was running late, which I communicated with Ali and got no response. As I was pulling up I get a text that said due to me being late the appointment was cancelled. I called her right away and she ignored my call. I was there already so I walked in to see if I could catch her and she started yelling at me through the door. Then she sent me paragraphs of texts after I left. I understand the value of someone’s time, I would have never showed up late had it not been for an accident out of my control. But sure, verbally attack me if that makes you feel better, I’m used to dealing with children so I handled it and I will not be returning in the future.

Ali gave me my verve back. She spent over an hour detangling me and then cut and styled my hair to compliment my features perfectly. I haven't felt this pretty since lockdown started. As a healthcare worker, my priorities shifted with COVID, but I also lost myself a little. She brought me back. My hair hasn't been this healthy in years, and she even managed to bring out my beautiful silver strands. I'm on cloud nine. She's extremely talented and the pricing is beyond fair. I haven't looked in the mirror this much in ages.

Ali has always done a phenomenal job doing my hair over the past year when I first came to the area. They have been delightful to work with, incredibly kind and considerate, and very talented at what they do! I would recommend them to anyone

Ali was able to reinstall my confidence after a not so great experience with a previous stylist. She was able to color correct (fix) getting both red and green out of my blonde and helping me into a transition color for my hair to come back healthy! I appreciated their patience and time she put in (crazy color correction & I have thick hair) I would recommend them to anyone looking for a stylist who listens to your needs and explains and gives her best recommendations!🖤

I was a new client and Ali was super welcoming and did a great job with my hair. I left with exactly what I asked for. Couldn’t stop playing with my hair, I was obsessed. She was also super helpful in showing how to style it properly using a few different methods so I could find what worked for me.

Absolutely love having my hair cut by Ali. Every time it’s perfect and exactly what I have asked for. From bangs to a shag to a trim, it always exceeds expectations. I don’t need another spot as long as Ali is around 💕

I have had beyond fantastic experiences with Ali!! When I first came to them a year ago, my layers and bangs were grown out and I didn’t feel like myself in my haircut. Not only did Ali listen and work with me to figure out what I wanted (even when I wasn’t sure!), but they showed me how to easily style my hair to really bring out my curls, without any new products. I love, love, love my hair - friends who haven’t seen me in a while have commented on how much it’s changed. I have come back twice since then for trims and little changes, and every time it’s been a wonderful, welcoming experience. Couldn’t recommend them enough my

Ali has consistently made my daughter’s hair dreams come true. She also treats her kindly and respects her choices. I love that she communicates well with my child and makes her feel safe and welcome.
