Got three ac units from Webasto for my boat, one unit lost refrigirant after a year of no use, took two years for warranty replacement. Another unit needs new circuitboard, when I opened it, it is full of cheap relays and contactors, so no surprise. Finally, metallic anchors that attach the units to the boat floor got rusty after three years (see pic), if I wouldn't notice promtly, the units would start flying around and damage everything. Unbelievably bad quality.
Tech support over the phone has it's limits. My Air Top Evo 40 will not light and it is likely an air lock in the fuel line. Knowing this does not help
I need a dealer in my area. The Wabasto dealer locator website is useless in that none every dealer I call says that they do not know anything about Wabasto.
I now have an expensive, non functional heater that I cannot get serviced.
If Wabasto doesn't know who installs and services their product, who does?
Not a trustworthy company
After month without a chiller and finally reaching out to Webasto admin I received an inaceptable answer:
My thought - the fact that a global company of this size has no chillers available for emergency cases and leaves customers without air conditioning for months in unsafe heat conditions. Living aboard in the Caribbean without AC is more than an inconvenience — it’s a serious health and safety risk.
It is difficult to understand how a company with Webasto’s reputation does not keep even minimal stock to respond to urgent needs, and this gives the impression that customer safety and well-being are not a priority
