While working out as a guest at this location, I was abruptly interrupted mid-workout by a staff member and told that I had to leave the gym because the member whose guest pass I was using was no longer present. This was done publicly and in a manner that I found embarrassing and unprofessional.
At no point prior to entering the gym were either myself or my friend informed that guests are not allowed to continue working out if the member leaves the facility. When I approached the staff member calmly to express my disappointment and to explain that this policy had not been communicated to us, I was told that staff do not explain the guest policy to guests and that it is entirely the member’s responsibility to know and relay the rules.
I explained that members may occasionally forget details of the guest policy, especially if they do not use guest passes often, and suggested that staff briefly remind members or guests upon check-in to avoid situations like this. The staff member who is black with a nose ring cut me off, appeared disinterested, and reiterated the rules in a rude and dismissive tone, offering no attempt at resolution or customer service.
What was particularly disappointing is that I was never offered the option to purchase a guest pass so I could continue my workout—something I would have been willing to do had it been suggested. Instead, I was simply told to leave. As a result, Edge Fitness lost a potential customer due to the way this situation was handled.
Additionally, after this incident, I looked up the guest policy online and did not find any clear mention that members must remain present while their guest is working out. This lack of clarity further reinforces my concern that this policy is not being adequately communicated to members or guests.
This experience left a very negative impression and made me feel unwelcome. I believe the situation could have been handled with more professionalism, courtesy, and clear communication. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve staff training and customer interactions, particularly with guests who may be considering membership.

Avoid at all costs. I fulfilled my 2-year contract. Gave the 30 days notice to cancel. (Yes they require a 30-day notice like a Lease on an apartment to cancel your membership even when you fulfilled your 2-year contract already.) And still costing me almost $200 to get out of this thing. Absolutely insane. I'm currently without a vehicle getting my car fixed. In December around the holiday. I've already paid them almost $100. I get an email saying I missed a $20 payment and so now they're adding on another 60 to cancel. For reference I sent them the notice in the middle of November to cancel. But they just keep adding on fees and pushing back the cancellation date. Why would you not cancel and just charge me the cancellation fees they just keep adding on more and more money this is insane. I've already paid them almost $100 to cancel and they just keep wanting more money. There may have been a chance of me rejoining later in 2026 but they've absolutely destroyed that chance now. Do yourself a favor and just go to Planet fitness. Only 10 or 20 bucks a month and no BS to cancel. Or at least read the rest of these horrible reviews of people having the same issues that I have before you decide to join this gym. Also take note most of their negative reviews have the same exact copy and paste answer from the company with an email address that I can already warn you is going to do absolutely nothing.

My spouse had an extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience at The Edge Fitness Clubs – 30150 Grand River Ave on December 23rd, and it completely changed how we view this company.
She was invited as a guest using a valid guest pass by a member. Her friend checked her in properly, then had to step out briefly to attend to an urgent personal matter. Shortly after the friend left, an employee approached my spouse and told her she had to leave immediately because the member who brought her was no longer present.
When my spouse asked to speak with a manager to better understand the situation, the employee refused to get one and dodged the request entirely. As she tried to calmly explain how uncomfortable and embarrassing the situation felt, his only response was a dismissive “the rules are the rules,” with zero effort to de-escalate or treat her with basic respect.
To make matters worse, when she later called the club asking to speak with the manager on duty, a woman answered, claimed to be the manager, and offered nothing more than, “I’ll let the team know.” No clarification. No apology. No accountability.
Whether or not a rule exists is beside the point. Customer service is about how rules are enforced, and this was handled with unnecessary rigidity, poor communication, and a complete lack of empathy. The refusal to involve management in the moment and the unserious follow-up afterward speaks volumes about this location’s service culture.
For a gym that markets itself as welcoming and community-focused, this experience was the exact opposite. Potential members should be aware of how guests are treated here before signing anything.

Misrepresentation and No Support from Edge Fitness Farmington / EdgeCares
I joined Edge Fitness Farmington on August 22, 2025 after clearly asking for a monthly, pay-as-you-go membership. The staff member at the front desk confirmed it was a monthly plan, so I signed based on that understanding. Later, I discovered that I was actually locked into a 12-month contract without being told about it at all.
I also purchased what I was told was a $60 trial offer for two personal-training sessions. Instead, I was unknowingly enrolled into an auto-renewing bi-weekly contract that started charging $119.99 every two weeks. When I questioned this, I realized the agreement had been set up completely differently from what was explained to me in person. (They do not have a page to track how many training sessions were left/used for the payments you make.)
I reached out to EdgeCares and ABC Fitness multiple times, explaining the misrepresentation at the time of sale and providing proof (agreements (I never agreed while discussing, but signed by misleading)) and screenshots(No proper receipt for payments). Instead of addressing the issue of misleading sales practices, their responses only repeated generic contract policies and avoided the actual concern. Even after several follow-ups, I have received no response from EdgeCares regarding the misrepresentation.
It’s disappointing that a brand like Edge Fitness does not take accountability when customers are clearly misled at sign-up. Please double-check every line before signing anything, and do not rely on what staff verbally promise you — the reality may be very different.
The Edge Fitness Clubs might reply to you, but they do not actually care about anything. They keep on repeating the same thing about the policies being properly documented, but never admit or address the issues of time of sales misrepresentation.

It was completely disturbing how they treated me. First they refused to cancel my membership even though I live over 15 miles from their establishment, which stated in the code on conduct is an exception when canceling a membership. Secondly when the 1 year contract, that they didn’t inform me about, finally ended they charged me a reinstatement fee of 59.99 and for the month of October. I have never gone to the gym since the one time I went this time last year. They have been extremely rude, unethical, and untrustworthy. High recommend that you Do Not use Edge Fitness Clubs. Especially if you want good ethical, helpful training, and customer service. Hands down the WORST experience with them.
