Dr Gabriel Sonse at the Kresge Eye Institute, is my Opthomoligist. He is honestly an exceptional Eye Doctor & Surgeon. He is thorough during examinations and explains every test and procedure clearly and kindly. All of his staff are great too. I highly recommend his practice at the Kresge Eye Institute.
For a bit of my eye history, 32 years ago I had optic-neuritis in my right eye, quite a painful experience which badly damaged my optic nerve, and therefore also damaged a lot of my vision in that eye. To date MS has never been diagnosed, which optic-neuritis is often a symptom of MS. So the cause remains unknown.

This place is beyond amazing. For any eye issues or procedures you may need whether it be for regular checkups and or type 1 diabetes retinopathy, cataracts etc. Dr. Malbin is an absolute pro at what he does and the staff there shout out to Becky are all beyond amazing as well. 12/10 recommend.
My wife has been seeing Dr. Abrams for over 23 years since she had a detached retina and rears. Over the course of those years she has also been treated for additional retina issues by Dr. Abrams and surgery by Dr. Lin. They have both saved her eyesight. Recently, she had to have three different tests on the same day - something that only could have happened at a center with the resources that exist at KEI. In addition to the doctors, the practice coordinator, Sherry, is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We live in the suburbs, but it is well worth the drive to receive such excellent care.
