The entire staff was amazing. The rooms were great but the fridge didnt work and all I had was a sheet.

Love the place, good environment, but is missing food options when you arrive late.

Check in was the most rude and unprofessional experience I have ever had at a hotel, let alone a Marriott and member. Had to make the agent(Jihad) add the primary guest membership back to the room reservation after actually arguing about it. He did not confirm the price or explain, the incidental charges or how much a night would be held. Nor did he offer a bottle of water as an elite member or let me know about the service the concierge level provides. I actually worked at the Marriott for years as a Guest Service Representative and later concierge so his actions were unacceptable actually. Tried to call manager to make a complaint because my coworkers experience who I was standing next to was the total opposite of mines. I hope it’s not an indicator of the rest of my stay here as the bell man immediately assisted us with our bags.
Also, rooms have no closet or chase to hang clothes. No microwave, iron, or ironing board. Trash was left in the drawers of my room. **Edit - the room does have closet with iron and board….door didn’t open properly had to call down to get instructions on how to open after asking for iron** Don’t turn handle just pull really hard!
Great location but very disappointing in the service and the actual room. Missing basic amenities.

Only 1 person running check in desk on a Saturday at noon. Room was rush prepped. Coffee area was messy and not restocked so no coffee for a 0315 wake-up. 9th floor rooms have a loud industrial hum.

Wow, this place... you may almost lose where you're at. You must memorize the signs, areas and others before taking a leisure for having your fun. And when you miss where you're at, go back to the lobby/lounge, then straight to your room.

This hotel has potential, but unfortunately my stay was disappointing. The location is nice, with paid parking across the street and valet available at the entrance. The marketplace and Fuel restaurant on-site are very nice, and my room had a great view overlooking the river.

However, the negatives outweighed the positives. The front desk staff were unfriendly — they wouldn’t even acknowledge me until I walked up and asked for help. My room on the 45th floor was not clean. There were crumbs on the floor, blood stains in the bathroom tub and tiles, and even on the mirror. I had to call the front desk to make sure the water was safe to use as there was a sign on the mirror not to use the water.

The infused water in the lobby was not good, and to make matters worse, my second night was terrible. The room next door partied loudly until 4 a.m. with a huge group of people, and I don’t understand how this was allowed in the hotel.

Overall, while the property has a nice location and amenities, the service, cleanliness, and lack of control over noise made this my worst hotel stay. I will not be returning.

On priceline.com one day the price was $203. I wasn't sure if my group was all going to get to go so I waited to book. Which was a mistake. Never wait (always better to book and cancel or else the price will probably jump). All I did was wait ONE day and the price shot up to $249. Doesn't make sense to me. Then, after hidden taxes/fees/service fee the final total was $350. How is there $100 jump in fees? The guy on the phone guaranteed me a room on a high floor with a City view. That is the reason why I chose this hotel in the first place. I like being up high and taking pictures. So I kept the reservation. I booked on the phone through reservationcounter.com. When I got to the hotel the front desk acted like they did not know what I was talking about. They ended up putting me on the 49th floor facing Belle Isle and one of the other towers was in the way of the view. I could not see the main downtown City view at all. The Bell Hop was awesome! Request Kamal and give him a good tip. He talked to a manager (Modj) and helped get us the room we were promised! After we had to fight to get the room (that I was guaranteed on the phone) everything was great. I love this hotel. I will be back. I just wish they would have given me the room I requested immediately.

I LOVE the view from the rooms...even the elevators. The location is absolutely awesome! Right in the heart of Detroit. Surrounded by restaurants and entertainment. I would love to do a video collab review of this location. TT: @luv.daisii
