CBS Solar certainly earned their money on my job. My township reversed course on their approval of our original design, discovering an obscure ordinance they'd previously overlooked. This required a re-design of the project. This fact plus the hours and hours required to seek regulatory approval from the utility provider makes me marvel at their capacity for just plowing ahead efficiently with what needs to be done on the approval side. Ultimately, we designed a "hybrid" system with panels on the roof and on the ground. The ground units are "trackers" that, like sunflowers, tilt to follow the direction of the sun. Sent a web inquiry for a quote and never heard anything. 2 weeks or so later I called and was told my salesman had been extremely busy and after some further conversation was told they don't even want to talk about off grid systems and perhaps that's why I was ignored. Sad but understandable I guess.......Did in the end direct me to a good off grid resource so I changed number of stars. Probably a great company to work with if you fit inside the cookie cutter.

We started the process early but was held up by Consumers Power. It was a difficult installation due to the location of the power meter being in a bad location to hook up to the new circuit breaker box. CBS SOLAR worked closely with our electric installer to get everything done by the end of the year. The installation was completed just before that massive Christmas snow storm.We couldn't be happier with the system. We have even noticed the system sending power back to Consumers even with the dreary winter sky.
