I have been seeing Dr. Lao for many many years. He has always been there for me when I needed him and it’s unfortunate that his staff is not as helpful as he is anymore.

I called about terrible pain in my back. I had been to an urgent care and they told me I needed to ask my primary for an MRI. They refused to schedule me a call with Dr Lao to get a referral unless I saw him in person and he didn’t have an available appointment for two weeks. I told them I didn’t want to start the process of getting an MRI in two weeks because I can’t breathe without pain. I had an amazing doctor that I followed to Henry Ford. Unfortunately the office manager just told me my doctor hasn't adjusted to their office my appointment being canceled was actually her fault because she can't keep up with documentation. The actual problem is my doctor spent time with her patients. I can't believe an office manager would talk badly about a doctor, and pretty much confirm I'm just a number to them. Won't be returning to this office and hope my excellent doctor leaves them too!

Well Judi Gambaro I'm glad for you that you had a good experience w Dr Barker but after many calls vists tests not called in or meds, prises or returned phone calls even from the after cate Dr's or help he almost cost my son his life from his negligence! thank goodness a Dr from the hospital took him under his wing and admitted him.. he was in UCU for 4 days then the hospital step down for 9 more then a rehab center for 2 months. I would never ever go see him again my son now has a great set of Henry ford Dr's that look out for him and have helped him w his health. ....
