About Ann Arbor Pediatric Dentistry
Ann Arbor Pediatric Dentistry offers a warm and welcoming environment for infants, children, adolescents, and those with special health care needs. With a team of six specialized pediatric dentists, the practice focuses on the unique dental needs of children. Reviews highlight the exceptional experiences children have during visits, with dentists being patient, supportive, and calm. Families appreciate the kindness of the staff, especially the hygienist, which makes each appointment a pleasant experience. New families are welcomed daily at both locations, ensuring quality care for every child. The clinic features a play area that helps keep young patients distracted, making visits smoother and more enjoyable. Children receive special gifts and fun decorations, like the Lightning McQueen poster board, adding to the friendly atmosphere. Parents note how the staff explains everything to the kids, helping them feel comfortable and confident, especially for those who may feel nervous about dental visits.
I looked all over for reviews before deciding to come here for my son’s tongue tie revision so now I wanted to add one of my own to help other parents. Dr. Kristin was great to work with. We’re sadly not new to tongue ties. All our kids have had super obvious and significant ones that absolutely needed revision. This was our first time at this office for the procedure though and multiple things stood out for us compared to the other providers we’ve seen before. First, we could stay in the room with our son the whole time. Second, they used numbing cream and I absolutely felt that it worked and they weren’t just telling us they were numbing when they weren’t or when it wasn’t effective. I say this because my son was quick to calm when I picked him up afterwards and the way he cried sounded angry vs in pain to me. We were told the numbing would last about 2-3 hrs and sure enough that’s around when he finally seemed to be in pain at all. Third, they didn’t try to convince us to have any additional ties revised other than the tongue - our son has a thick but mobile lip tie as well that we did not want to revise and we were worried they might try to push it. Instead, they agreed it wasn’t necessary to do anything to it since his lip is very mobile and he’s using it well while nursing. We had the same situation with our second son at a different dentist office and they really pushed us to have the lip revised too. I feel like some offices look at tie revision as a cash grab and want to just cut as many as possible and rack up the bill, but I felt like this office really just wanted what was best for our child. Fourth, the nursing space for after the procedure was comfortable and quiet. They provided snacks, diapers, a comfy chair, and a changing area to make sure you had everything you needed. We’re a week out now and have noticed quite a bit of improvement nursing and his tongue looks good / as it should with no issues. I wish we knew about this place for our first and second babies too.
I had the best experience for my son’s first dental appointment. Everyone was so friendly and the play area was a great touch and super helpful for keeping him distracted while I filled out paperwork. He loved the Lightning McQueen poster board and the special gifts. It’s was quick, informative and efficient especially for a 2.5 year old boy.
They are amazing! They explain everything to the kids as they do it, give them a chance to be comfortable and confident. My daughter loves it here and I’ll never take her anywhere else. If your child gets nervous or anxious about the dentist they ARE the place to go. Amazing staff and work hands down!
