About the Dance Scene
The Dance Scene has been serving the Metro Detroit area for over 45 years, offering private, group lessons, and practice dance parties. With a large dance floor, lights, and an overall exciting atmosphere, the studio provides a fun and easy learning experience for dancers of all levels. The instructors are known for their knowledgeable and approachable teaching styles, helping students feel comfortable and progress quickly. Anna is a wonderful, kind, and patient teacher who makes you feel so comfortable. She excels at teaching a good pace and is amazing at quickly teaching the basics, dips, and spins for a wedding dance. The studio itself is warm and welcoming. The studio hosts great Saturday night parties with a mix of music styles, where the welcoming crowd is accepting of beginners. Conveniently located with plenty of free parking, the Dance Scene is described as a hidden gem, offering superior training and dance instruction, from wedding dances to social and competitive routines, at an affordable cost.
Jeremiah was great! All the staff was very friendly as well. We took a few lessons just before our wedding and they were so helpful making us feel comfortable for our first dance. Highly recommend!

After becoming widowed late last year I knew I needed to get out of the house, so I decided to learn how to dance and try to build a new social life.
Googled dance lessons in my area and the nearest was The Dance Scene.
And I’m glad it was.
I was as nervous as one could be when I went to my first lesson. But Anna the owner and star instructor assured me that I was going to be just fine. She took me on the dance floor and in five minutes I felt as comfortable as could be. Her professionalism is beyond reproach, she Knew just how to calm me down and get me in the program (The groove).
