One evening I was struck with insomnia and decided to get up and do a little retail therapy online. I was watch TV at around 3 AM when I saw Island hunters. I mean how much more retail therapy would I need if only I bought an island? I quickly turned my search to the closest islands for sale near me. I thought I was going to find a fly in island in Canada. Then to my surprise, there she was! A beautiful lil 2 acre island in Lake Huron only 6 hours from home. I emailed the agent and Bruce quickly replied. We set up a showing and I made the 6 hour trip to find Bruce waiting for me at a little Marina with a 15HP Outboard and small boat. The bay was steaming with fog and we made the 15 minute ride out to this beautiful private island. I fell in love but it was a lot to think about. With a little run down 1950's cabin and mushrooms of ever color everywhere I knew this was the place for me. I went home and though about it and weeks later I decided to go for it. Despite everyone's opposition, I moved forward with the purchase. Bruce made the transaction seamless. Bruce handled all of my paperwork mostly online. He even arranged a remote closing so I didn't have to drive all the way to the UP for a closing. I simply did all of my paperwork locally and Bim, Bam, Bop! All done. I now own Chadinton's Landing on Fisher Island. I couldn't be happier with my little slice of heaven up north and I know this wouldn't have come together with the knowledge and expertise of someone who truly knows the area and how to get things done. Have been working with another realtor to try and purchase property that this seller is listing. Very difficult to work with. Is not responsive to any questions that are asked. For this being one of the only realty companies in the area, his lack of responsiveness, communication, and failure to provide answers to questions is very frustrating. Seems to fabricate the truth regarding multiple showings, additional offers, etc. Very unprofessional.
