We found Sandy at Windy Ridge Farm Dog Training after an extensive online and word of mouth search looking for a trainer for our puppy. We opted for the board and train option and could not be happier with the results we have seen thus far! Sandy knows her stuff and the fruits of that knowledge now shine through in puppy, Ahsoka. We cannot thank Sandy enough for everything she has done! We highly recommend her for anyone looking for a puppy/dog trainer.

We adopted a one year old 20 lb. Jack Russell mix that we named Benny from a Houston, TX shelter who had him in a foster family for about two weeks. He was transported to Cadillac, MI. There was no history for him. He was house broken by the foster family and got along well with six other various sized foster dogs. He came to us with a cautious attitude especially with men, especially men in baseball caps. He was very tense upon arrival to our home and as my husband reached for his leash that was attached to him but laying on the floor, Benny bit him on the hand and drew blood. It took about 2 weeks for Benny to accept my husband, but even longer to get to get Benny and my husband to love each other. Our last dog had separation anxiety and was reactive to most other dogs. This just became overwhelming as she got into her senior years. We decided to get a trainer to help avoid these issues with Benny. He also needed some basic training to be the kind of dog that could fit into many scenarios and to work with him with strangers and children. It was well worth the cost of Sandy training my husband and I to train Benny. It requires work on the owners part, lots of repetition and practice. But without Sandy’s knowledge and up to date experience we would not have succeeded. She was able to introduce us to the proper equipment to use in training. Sandy was very accommodating, always on time, reliable, her manner very easy to understand, and she always answered our texts promptly when ever we had concerns. A bonus was that Benny really liked her and she had many fun dog stories to tell. Just remember the initial training needs to be practiced and consistent otherwise it could easily be undone. A well behaved dog will make our lives so much easier and gives our dog Benny the confidence he needs to feel secure with us.
