“I am writing this review of KLM Landscaping to share our experience with the retaining wall replacement job at our home in Lake Orion (note: our job was done in conjunction with our next door neighbor’s yard which required a similar retaining wall replacement).

I can say that our experience with Kody was good thru the whole process. I believe he was honest and knowledgeable with us. Additionally, KLM job pricing was better than other estimates we received for similar work. Part of that was also due to us selecting boulders for the retaining wall. Initially we were not in favor of using boulders, but after job completion, we were satisfied. Many neighbors have already commented on how good the boulder walls look (we had two walls replaced) in our backyard facing a wetlands area. It looks more natural with boulders compared to a manufactured stone wall.

Would I use KLM again? Yes, I would. I’d only strongly suggest that in the contract it state that before any final work is finished on the yard grading, that you review the job with a supervisor, and approve it before any grass seeding and laying off straw is done. We did have issues with the yard grading that required two visits to resolve. Our experience was that once seeding and straw is laid down, fixing grading issues (like rough or low areas) is more difficult. Catching any grading issues early would have been less time consuming for us and KLM and may have resulted in a better yard grading outcome. Kody has committed to rolling the yard too ,in the Spring ’25, to help with rough grading issues.“

“Todaro's Landscaping did an amazing job and it was a pleasure to work with Joe and his crew. They were prompt every day and very respectful of my property. They cleaned the yard at the end of every work day. Joe continued to work with me throughout the construction even with my minor changes on my plan to enlarge my front porch area while building a retaining wall around two large flowerbeds and a couple pillars to complement the new landscaping. The one flowerbed had a small area with a tight curve and Joe took his time to get the perfect cuts so that there were no gaps. Very precise cutting. I also loved the pillars so much that I had Joe add two more pillars to the job at a very fair price. Joe ran into a small problem when hand digging for one pillar, he hit/cut my sprinkler timer line. He took the time to explain what happened and how he would fix it. Joe repaired the line, tested each zone of the sprinklers and ensured they worked properly, like a true professional (at no extra charge). Joe also repaired/installed three popups for my downspouts. Joe went above and beyond, I had two railings and he installed one on my front porch and the other inside my garage at no extra charge. I asked Joe to plan to return for additional job early next spring to complete some brick pavers and plant a couple trees. I highly recommend them for your landscaping needs.
