“Robbins Built managed a seven-month major renovation of our house. That was a 250 sq ft addition with a basement, requiring extensive reconstruction of the existing structure. Most of the addition was kitchen space, requiring all the trades to coordinate and deliver an end product we are completely happy with.
For a renovation project you want a contractor who builds quality, sticks to the schedule, and is super cheap. You can't get all three, though. Finishing on time was a big deal for us, and not having to fix everything the contractor did is also a big deal for us.
Matt is completely committed to the project, as if he's going to live there himself. In our weekly meetings he showed us what was done every day, what will be done every day, and goes through all the decisions that have to be made that week. There were never any surprises along the way, and that is a big deal as well.
A small example. Part of the remodel meant that we would get a vacuum closet across from the stairs going down the basement. Matt built that close a foot smaller than the architect's drawing, leaving just that much more space to maneuver around the landing. My bike shop is in the basement and every time I move bikes up or down, I'm grateful he did that.
