This rating reflects my opinion of an experience I had interviewing Ruth to see if we might be a good therapeutic fit.During the experience, I found her to be astonishingly abrupt and unkind.I came away from it glad I had the support systems in place that I have, and genuinely concerned for people who might interact with her who do not have similar support systems or resources.I would strongly not recommend Ruth as a therapist.
If it was possible to give Ruth zero stars, I would. My ex-husband and I saw her for four sessions at the tail end of 2019. I have sat on these feelings and processed them for three years before sharing them. She was not impartial, often taking my ex's side during discussions. She was not able to get him to open up about his feelings. I felt like she was often picking at me and my behaviors, but gave my ex-husband passes on his actions. Additionally, she was not able to suss out that he was having an affair. She is terrible, lacks people skills and the ability to create conversations. Save your money; do not see Ruth.
i cannot recommend her highly enough, my wife and I have been like a "dating couple" for the past 10 years since counseling, Ruth said we could always come back for a "tune up" but honestly it hasn't been necessary. Her program/plan is 10 sessions but we "graduated" after only 6, walking out after the 6th session holding hands was an incredibly satisfying memorable experience for both of us, our relationship was NOT in a good place and in the years since counseling it's truly never been better
