Purchased carpeting through the Alpena Home Depot and was told installation would be through AIS Installations (who handles all of their installations in Michigan). AIS Installations was a joke in itself, but for Home Depot to use them does not say much for HD. Very long story but bought carpeting, installers (AIS) called and set up appointment. Day of installation, truck broke...rescheduled. Came out the next time and all good except they felt a 3x3 closet linoleum was asbestos. Stopped what they were doing and left. Tried to get them to install all but that closet and was told they could not. Turns out, it was not asbestos despite the time and money spent having it removed, and then being told by AIS that you shouldn't ever remove undamaged linoleum (which this was) suspected of asbestos. So...supposed to come back out 5 days later, neve showed...couple more days and rescheduled for that coming Friday...a week and 4 days from when they started with living room all tore up from the first visit. Anyway, make a long story short, did get it done very nicely that Friday...but when all these delays started, we did contact everyone we could including the Alpena Home Depot. A message was left with the manager on duty that Sunday (4/21) and he would leave our detailed message for Allen and Diana and they would get back with us. As of right now, it has been one week and one day and we have heard absolutely NOTHING from either of them. Sure does not say much about those two people from HD who are in charge of things...and really shows they don't care about their customers.
So my point is...if you are looking at buying carpeting from HOME DEPOT and have them install it...they don't do the install, they farm it out and when you do try to talk to either of those two individuals listed above...don't expect a return phone call.
So...even though the 3x3 piece of linoleum was NOT asbestos, we had to pay an EXTRA $100 for the installers to come back out. They were wrong...and we had to pay. Please don't make the same mistake we made...buy your carpeting from somewhere else where you would probably get treated better.

Went to Home Depot to order windows. Told the man ... I was getting new windows because I needed to keep the heat in/cold out. Not 1 time did he say btw our windows ARE NOT graded for this climate! They are graded for Kentucky & lower! The windows I replaced were btr than these! Shame on HD for not letting ppl know this. Especially Northern Michigan HD store! Too bad there's not an option for -stars. I wasted 7 grand because of them! Thanks a lot HD for selling me garbage windows not graded for Michigan!

Customer Service at least is consistent!!
Rude and act like the customer is imposing if they ask a question or need assistance.
It is ridiculous - seems that their attitude is that customers are a bother!!
We drive about an hour north to get there-
Could just as easily drive that one hour southwest if the other store appreciates customers!
Last Three trips - rude people.
Cashiers-always pleasant..
Rugs- get off that phone and help people!
Return desk- young girl- you are just plain rude and should work in a warehouse- not with public.
