Mike Matthysse led the family through the arrangements for a funeral service, showing compassion and attention to every detail, which provided comfort during a distressing time. The staff's willingness to do anything to make the service memorable and to handle every detail was greatly appreciated. Matthew, Lisa, and Rachael have all been very supportive and professional when making arrangements. Lisa arranged to have clothes for the loved one to wear in the casket, and Rachael noticed before the visitation that the address for the burial place was not accurate, providing correct maps for everyone. The staff also recommended that 1-2 family members be able to see the body, even if it’s a closed casket, to make a positive identification. I recently lost my Mom and was not immediately familiar with any convenient funeral homes as we had previous negative experiences somewhere else. Understandably, this caused some anxiety because I wanted Mom to be cared for in the best way possible. I called MKD and was directed to Shelby H, the on-call funeral director. This was at 2AM, but she was so kind and reassuring, and immediately put my anxiety to rest. Shelby did a fantastic job, and she made sure to maintain communication throughout the week leading up to Mom's funeral to make sure there was no stress. I absolutely recommend MKD, and Shelby. Of course in their line of work, you hope you never have to see them again (LOL!), but I wouldn't hesitate to call them again when the need arises.
