About Atlantic Pines Golf Club at Old Marsh
Old Marsh Country Club is a semi-private, 18-hole championship golf course located in Wells, Maine. Designed by Brian Silva and opened in 2008, it pays tribute to the golden age of golf design. The course has earned recognition, being ranked among the "Top 10 Best in America" by GOLF Magazine in its first year and consistently appearing in the Top 25 Courses in New England by New England Golf Monthly. Players appreciate the pristine conditions and the friendly, knowledgeable staff. The grounds crew is very diligent in trying to keep it very playable. Greens, collars, and approaches are ok, rough back to normal, most traps getting better. Fairway brown patches are greening up. Greens are mostly excellent. The course is in good shape. It is an excellent course but also very challenging with plenty of blind shots and trouble on just about every hole. The forward tees are placed perfectly. Workers were very nice.
Last time I was here was about 2 years ago. Course was just purchased by the new ownership group. They’ve done a great job of cleaning up the bunkers, irrigation, and greens. Still some work to be done but I’m happy to see this course being revived so close to home. (Back 9 pictures)
Outside seating, great staff and delicious food.
Played Atlantic Pines Golf Club for first time in 10+ years and really enjoyed the course. Tee boxes and greens were in great shape, and the greens rolled true. Pace was great walked 18 holes in under 4 hrs, although I had one of the first tee times of the day.
Only real issue was the bugs. I wasn’t expecting it to be quite that buggy so definitely bring plenty of bug spray!
Overall, a really enjoyable round and I’d definitely play it again.
