My wife is a patient and worked as a sonographer for Coastal Womens Healthcare for many, many years. She was very proud to retire from their group. She will repeat time and again that CWHC is not only wonderfully caring with their patients but incredibly good to their staff. That says a lot.

It’s taken me a month to be able to put the words together. I’ve been a patient here for awhile and when I became pregnant in February I was so excited to follow with them as their plan to follow pregnancy seemed more extensive than others I had seen. Very early on in my pregnancy (6-7weeks about) I had a blood pressure issue and allergy to a med they had put me on that I ended up in the ER. Dr Shinners office called me right away and got me scheduled to come in and check on me (this was my best experience, as she was not even my doctor just the doctor on call) fast forward to a few weeks later after having genetic testing finding out everything had come back normal and we were having a boy. 2 weeks after that I started spotting. I called the office right away they got me in and confirmed I was starting to miscarry. I don’t remember the doctors name she was very young. Told me I would not even realize I was having a miscarriage and that it would be like a heavy period. We decided to do a D&C when my husband asked why it couldn’t be done that day she said well it’s the end of the day everybody is getting ready to go home. I ended up passing my baby early the next morning, it was in fact NOTHING like a heavy period the sac came out and I could see my baby in it…. Head and little body…. Not large but very visibly a baby. I went in a week later where I saw “my doctor” (which at this point I had seen once for a meet and great and all my other appointments had been with other physicians) Dr. Brooker came in the room she was fine as we talked to her, I wouldn’t say anything special but not horrible. I was visibly upset my husband had to ask if there were any resources for us where she said oh yea let me get that print out. She came back in the room handed it to us…. Turns around to leave and says “alright well call us again when you need us”, which after someone miscarries kinda seems like an odd thing to say. We left feeling as though it was not the “experience” we had expected. I work in the medical field. I understand these conversations are hard and discussing anything but happy news is difficult. I have never witnessed any of my physicians brush a patient off like she did. I understand that this is something she probably sees everyday so to her it’s normal. To me it wasn’t and a little more compassion and something other than “call us when you need us again” would have really been appreciated.

I have been a patient of CWHC since I first starting seeing an OB/GYN at age 16. Dr. A and Dr. C were involved with my overall care for many years and both were a part of the birth of my first child at age 35. EXCELLENT care and wonderful office. Over the last few years, things seemed to change and the practice became more of a business vs patient care. I have no health issues and all reproductive health is normal. Over COVID, I did not have my annual exam or mammo, so when I called in 2021 to schedule, I was told that I was not considered a patient since I had not been in for the last couple of years (last PE/Mammo was Oct 2018). I HAD BEEN GOING THERE SINCE AGE 16 - however, a global pandemic occurred and they no longer considered me a patient. I was able to speak with another staff member to explain the situation and was given an appt for October 2021. Our home got hit with COVID, so I called to reschedule with several days notice. The soonest appt was for Jan 20, 2023 and that was not a problem for me (no health issues, just preventive care). YAY! Come appt day, there is a snow storm so I called to cancel my 3:30 pm appt at 9:00 am, left a msg for the "care team". I just received a letter today (2/2/23) from CWHC dismissing me as a patient due to "non-compliance" for missing the appt, which they referred to as a "no show". It's obvious that this is an admin error however, if they are so quick to dismiss a patient who has been there since 1989 - who is also a healthcare professional - without even responding to my call or voicemail, I can say that this is NOT the medical care facility I would want handling my health. Sad to say - but thank you Dr. A and Dr. C for being awesome!!

This was the worst experience I've ever had with a gynecologist in my life. I'm 43 years old and have had uterine fibroids for years and they have caused me pain off and on. I went into coastal womens healthcare because of the pain they cause me, and I was given an ultrasound and was told I needed a biopsy to make sure nothing was cancerous. I was suggested a form of progesterone either in pill form or an iud before the biopsy. I was pushed repeatedly to get the IUD but was told the pill could also work. I have taken progesterone In pill form in the past for my fibroids and heavy bleeding with great success. The biopsy operation, was the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life, and after that was done, I was in such severe pain that I thought using an iud for progesterone wasn't an option for me period. I had made the mistake of ordering the iud pre biopsy thinking it would be ok, but I in no way want any other operation internally. I called coastal womens recently to inquire about taking the pill form and stated that my fibroids were causing me pain. I was called back and told 1. Fibroids don't cause the kind of pain I'm experiencing and 2. Since I've already ordered the IUD they prefer me taking that than an oral pill for progesterone. Even though they stated that the pill would work. I feel like I am being penalized for ordering an iud I never used and being forced now to use it. Please understand that my previous gynecologist in Houston Texas understands that fibroids cause pain and has prescribed me progesterone before and I've had great success. I can feel that Dr Dawson doesn't care about my pain, and is pushing a product on me.

Literally the best doctors office there is! Every single person you meet from the front office staff to the doctors and everyone in between are so down to earth, welcoming and supportive! Dr. Sinkin is amazing and I feel so lucky to have found him as my OB! He is the most supportive provider I have ever met. He truly listens to you and really cares and doesn’t make you feel like you’re just another number. Highly recommend this practice!

Dr Ricci is hands down the best doctor I have ever had. It almost feels like I'm having an appointment with a best friend, rather than a doctor. She helped me get through my postpartum anxiety and is so nice and caring. I would highly recommend her!!!! She is wonderful!!!!
