I really like this place. I am an instrument fanatic. I play guitar and bass and harmonica, but I love all the other cool old, collectible and new instruments they have to. It’s like a music museum. I buy my strings and other accessories here often. Everyone here is very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place for most of your musical needs…
Woodsound Studio is Excellent, and it is always a joy to visit. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A few years ago, the Pembroke Historical Society, Pembroke, Maine, had Woodsound restore a historic violin made by William Leighton of Pembroke in the very early 1900s. The violin had been ignored for over 50 years, and stored improperly in someone's home, then in the museum, which lacked temperature and humidity control. The restoration, which was documented by photographs and comments, was superb, and now, the historic Leighton Violin is used for local historic music performances - - - Stephen Sanfilippo, Ph.D., music historian
I love this refined string instruments store/repair shop. But be prepared to wait. You and each customer will get an education and personal attendance. But not fast!
If you bring kids they should be able to pay attention to string instruments and to wait.
