I've had both my babies here! infact my 3 month old, I made the trip for all my baby appointments and delivery from Brewer! highly recommend!

Pen Bay has an astounding emergency room team in a recently expanded space. I have been so impressed by the quality of doctors there. I’ve been with children, older family members, and countless times myself and always walk away feeling grateful.

Pen Bay Medical was a great facility to visit when I got Covid during my Maine vacation! I was checked in immediately and was instructed to sit and wait in the open and clean waiting area. I barely sat down when Nurse Kara called me into a room. She was efficient and caring. She did a Covid test and said it would be an hour for the results. I sat back down in the waiting room and she called me in 30 minutes later with a positive result. She said the doctor would be in shortly, and she was! Dr Lew was a delight! Extremely kind and helpful. She prescribed Paxlovid and called the script into the hospital pharmacy. When we arrived there, the staff was working on our insurance to determine the medication cost. I cannot say enough about how helpful Hilary was! I really appreciated her going the extra mile to help us out. Would highly recommend Pen Bay Medical. Everyone there was top level

They were very attentive to my sister and when they realized that she needed more than they could do they transferred her to Main medical center. The nurse even rode down with her in the ambulance.

One star is giving too much credit the service in the ER is terrible, been waiting 3 hours with my girlfriend who's in severe pain they took her blood pressure 2 hours ago and sent us back into the waiting room, mutiple people have came in and been seen, while we continue to wait with out anyone talking to her, after 2 hours someone came out and moved us to another waiting room which we have been sitting in for 30 minutes this place is dog water and don't recommend anyone to come here go to miles hospital.

Now one star my look unimpressive, you decide. Here is my story: My spouse slipped and broke her wrist. We immediately left for Pen Bay. We got to the emergency room, received our first xray And assigned a room. Now the story begins. Finally two attendants arrive and explain they are going to place her fingers into, what as children we used to call Chinese hand cuffs one person announced she had not done this before the other said he had some experience. ( not a tremendous confidence builder). They placed her four fingers into the hand cuffs and her hand is now stretched out above her head. They said they would return to release this in 20 to 30 minutes. WELL, they did return, not in 20-30 minutes but over two hours later !! Long enough to Temporarily damage her rotator cuff to the point it became far more painful than the broken bones. Next they could not decide to operate or cast the injury. Add this all up, we decided to terminate this relationship and move on to Portland where we were seen immediately and an operation was scheduled the next day. The " professionals" at Portland were not impressed by the TWO hour Chinese torture and informed us there is no surgical procedure that could help. Simply this can take a few weeks to a few months to heal. Thank you Pen Bay !! Advice; if you are able, please feel free to go to any emergency facility, other than Pen Bay. I recently had a surgical procedure at Pen Bay. I rarely write reviews but wanted to do so because my experience was wonderful from the time I initially walked through the door to being discharged after the operation. The nurses and staff were very kind and professional, answering all the questions and compassionately assisting me both before and after the surgery. Dr. Lars Ellison also communicated clearly what to expect and my respect for his skill and expertise has only increased since the procedure. Many, many thanks again to everyone who helped !

The doctors here are a joke. Hard to get a hold of and when you can get a hold of them, they completely ignore you. The nursing staff is wonderful, but the kindness pales in comparison to the incompetence of the doctors. Do not come here.

Very professional and caring. Got my infusion of monoclonal antibodies on the 19th of September and didn't even feel the IV stick.

ER sucks. Been here since 330pm now 750pm. Been in exam room for an hour. After 40 mins doc finally showed up then left after 5 mins to answer a phone call. Has been gone 20 mins now.
