Great space with a unique and beautiful canvas mat... Working out on this surface is a delight. The instructors are top notch, and they are genuinely nice to work with... Practice is organized and professional. They are welcoming to newcomers and guests from out of town. A+ all the way

My teenager started practicing at Portland Aikido nearly 3 years ago. After watching the classes twice a week for a few months, I saw how welcoming and respectful the dojo members are to a young person. I also saw how my teen's self-confidence and physical stamina improved dramatically. I realized I wanted the same things for myself and started practicing in the same classes as my child. Since then, we have both experienced personal and physical improvements, and our relationship has gotten even stronger. Aikido is a wonderful practice for parents and children to do together, and Portland Aikido is a great place to do it!

Our 16yo daughter loves Portland Aikido. She has trained here for almost two years, and we are grateful for the confidence, discipline, and resilience she has earned through her practice. She dislikes most sports, but loves aikido, gets a great workout here, and comes home tired. The calm, quiet aspects of aikido have also become important to her. She feels she is practicing mindfulness techniques and says it's almost meditative.Portland Aikido has several classes per week, so she can always fit sessions into her busy schedule.
