About Maine Eye Center
Maine Eye Center is a professional and welcoming establishment, with Dr. Noell Acord standing out for her thoroughness and expertise. Patients appreciate the accommodating staff, like when they were late and still seen by Dr. Walters, who is highly praised for being one of the best. However, there have been some negative experiences, such as feeling uncomfortable with Dr. Jeffrey Berman's bedside manner. Despite this, Dr. Berman reached out to apologize, showing a commitment to addressing concerns. Overall, Maine Eye Center provides a positive and thorough experience for patients seeking eye care.
I became a patient of one of the ophthalmologists at Maine Eye after I moved to Brunswick from Camden, where I saw specialist who was in private practice. While I have no qualms about my new doc's medical expertise, I am unhappy with her responsiveness to non-emergent concerns that crop up from time to time. I have blepharitis and occasionally develop issues that I think a doctor should look at and possibly treat to keep them from getting worse. But when I call for an appointment, Maine Eye tells me I can only see my doctor when it's time for my next scheduled visit, no matter how far off that might be. If I want a doctor to look at something, I'm advised to contact my PCP, or, if I have a true eye emergency, go to an ER. I consider that poor patient care. Wish I could go back to my old ophthalmologist, who seemed to really care about his patients.
I have been struggling with Keratoconous for over 30 years. I recently had cateract surgery and needed to be refitted with new lens post surgery. Dr Acord was amazing,. Her knowledge and expertise were overwelmingly gratifying and appreciated. Her Dr/patient rapport is exceptional. She listens to her patients. She was very respectful and engaging and honoring my many years of expertise with dealing with my eye issues. I am so grateful to her. It has been a 4 month recovery from cateract surgery due to the need to be refitted with sceleral lens. I was unable to drive for those months which caused much frustration. As my grandson said to us.."Did you hear the great news?/...Nana...read full review
Ok, everyone was welcoming and friendly except Dr. Jeffrey Berman, drove an hour so my 7 yo can see him (we were referred by our local Optometric for a follow up) and the second he walked into the room it was extremely uncomfortable. He acted like we were an inconvenience to him, didn’t bother to review the chart prior to walking in so he’s asking me questions and reading the chart while I was there…Horrible bedside manner; I would never go again.I received a “rate your visit” text and I did…I am yet to hear back from anyone about it which is why I am now writing a review since no one cared enough to follow up with me.6/3/24 EDIT TO ADD:Received a call from...read full review
