The cancer center, since merging with New England Cancer Ctr, has changed the way it operates. Now it takes THREE TIMES LONGER to get an infusion for a cancer patient. These are some of the sickest individuals and we wait and wait. Wasting what precious time we have left in waiting rooms. Totally unacceptable!

I was having an acute cholecystitis attack on Friday feb. 9th and not being from the area I trusted that CMMC would do good by me. I was so wrong. I was in a 10 out of 10 pain and was left to cry, moan and call out "pain, pain please help me, someone help me"" for over 2 hours. The triage nurse didn't seem to believe me when I told him how much pain I was in asking: if I had my leg cut off that would be a ten, am I really having that much pain?" He said that twice. Then said he would check on getting me a pain med for my painful condition that I could take out in the waiting room while I waited and never did follow through. An hour later while still basically writhing in pain an EMT brought me in to put an IV in and take some blood then i was told to go back to waiting room for another hour. Noone stopped to help me. My brother, God Bless him was with me the whole time and asked any staff that went by to please assist me and all said they would and no one did. i could not stand it anymore and my brother had the idea to go to St. Mary's in Lewiston I was from away I did not know much about what services were available and now I know. I will never go to CMMC again and would not recommend it to anymore. I was ignored and felt I could have had a heart attack with the pain I was in. At one point I did have chest pressure and my brother reported that to staff in ER and still no one helped or took me back to be cared for! Unbeleivable., A dangerous and uncaring facility. I got right in at St. Mary's ER and although i still had to wait almost an hour for treatment which was very difficult I did feel like the professional staff cared . I have never been treated so poorly as I was at CMMC ER. The lack of care and compassion was alarming and I would never trust them with my health care needs again. I hate to give them even one star.

The care quality is a 0.2 Not enough staff. New nurses throughout hospital are a danger to patients Doctors are few and far between. Have no concept of patient comfort Advice: Go to a different medical facility

My son having chest pain and extremely high blood pressure and we went here and WAITED in waiting room for way over 2 hours! They don't care about the patient or whether they live or die! They only care about money! I hate this company so much i hope your families are in similar situations

if only no stars was an option... * Severe employee turnover directly effecting patient care. * ED is nearly 100% staffed by travel providers - no beyond 13 week community connection. They grab the $4k to $6k a week and leave for next assignment. * Scheduling is horrid attributed to lack of experience matched to lack of assistance. * Long term nurses and doctors "retiring" premature of internal turmoil IF they were not forced out prior. in my opinion this facility should be placed on notice to completely derate as a hospital while the executive team takes a 60% reduction in pay with no bonus structure until this is resolved. The days of 1/2 $million dollar bonuses on top of an equal paycheck for the CEO needs to end, this is top down failure. For what is a small community and what was not to long ago second to none healthcare the provided service is imploding. Go north to Augusta, south to Portland or east To Brunswick.

Advice for long er waits... Expect non life-threatening waiting area wait times to be long as probably most places are, 1-2 hrs depending on how much room and staff they are juggling, have something to do with you for the wait time, books, drawing materials, tablets, podcasts, things to take up time: especially with fidgety little ones. Times are tough and waiting when in need is unwanted but bring things to help cope as they will assist when able. The wait time I've seen can take a while and I just want to encourage people to try and be understanding of the current events. With staffing issues everywhere it's difficult to write a review other than including this issue because it affects they experience of receiving help with expected/ desired accommodations. They are building a new center near the auburn Shaw's so perhaps this will make hospital visits better with more places to go when in need.

The administration and acute care management of this hospital are horrendous. For prospective patients I'd strongly advise go elsewhere if at all possible, and for prospective employees, especially travel nurses, I'd strongly urge you to run far far away from here and do not look back. There is a culture of bias and hostility against travel nurses, especially male nurses. There's a culture of racial prejudice and extreme arrogance on the part of administration and upper management there. There are some genuinely good nurses and doctors there who care but there are many overworked, burnt-out nurses and a few incompetent doctors that ruin patient care and of which I'd be very, very concerned about as a patient or if a loved one was there as a patient. The incompetence of their doctors have had fatal consequences and management does nothing about it but scapegoat nurses, especially travel nurses if at all possible, while covering up for the doctors. The administration have ran off much of their older, experienced regular staff and have become reliant on travel nurses and new grad nurses but still often treat their travel nurses like garbage. They will knowingly and dishonestly jeopardize your license and careers if it suits their purposes to do so. The acute care management is shady as hell. Travel nurses if you care about your license and career AVOID THIS PLACE!

There are no negative stars so I put a one. Environmental services treated the trash with better respect and dignity than my mother got from the ER. Mom came out of the ER worse than when she went in. Go to an animal clinic instead you will get better medical care.
