I was offered a last minute appointment for sparse, soft pink highlights and when I arrived, she wanted to do a darker magenta. I refused and insisted on pink and showed her reference photos. The resulting highlights do not blend super well with my natural hair near the roots, look chunky, uneven and not at all close to what I was expecting. The cost was widely expensive and in my opinion, not worth it at all. I have gotten better highlights for much cheaper. Will be dyeing it brown again tonight.

I've never left a negetive review before but this was overall a very poor experience. Angela interrupted repeatedly and did not listen as I tried to describe what I wanted. The cut was choppy, too short, and mirrored some of the previous flaws I'd hoped to correct, making a bad cut worse. Only redeeming factor is that I learned - if communication is this challenged, don't go through with it. For now, I'll be wearing a hat.

I went because I seen a good haircut on an individual with curly hair similar to mine. Was super hopeful that mine would come out good considering hers was great! I was definitely disappointed. Stylist was 15 mins late without an apology or reason. I wanted to keep length on top as much as I could but adding shape and shaving the bottom. From there (seeing that’s she’s “the only board certified expert”) I wanted to dye my hair purple. Fully knowing my hair is dark, as an expert I would expect she would know her products. I knew it wouldn’t come out as purple, yet still purple. I got charged $150 for zero color change and a cut I was less thrilled with. She was also really rude when it came to my biracial family. She stated she has black aunts who never let her do their hair. I don’t blame them. Save your money and go to Boston.Also realized she must of used thinning shears on my thick curly hair. I’m definitely NOT excited about the grow out process to come. Days later and still very upset about my hair .Services: Hair coloring

I went through a traumatic pregnancy loss and was losing a lot of hair afterwards, something I shared with the stylist, and this was the first place I went to to get a hair cut and I really just wanted to be heard and listened to and treated with care. Instead I felt lack of compassion, definitely not listened to as far as what I wanted, and felt like I was met with frustration more than anything. Just another time a stylist used thinning shears on my thick hair when I asked them not to, which ruins it for months after. I wish I could have found someone more understanding for this particular haircut.

As a resident of Kansas City, I had the pleasure of finding Ms A K a couple of months ago during a work trip to Bangor. Her knowledge of color and hair is the reason I have revisited her during a recent work trip and now save my hair for ONLY her on my nex trip. You are crazy to trust your locks to anyone else.
