We started with RMA in December 2022 with Carol and both kids were little dragons. Fast forward to today and they are now a purple belt in the regular martial arts class. They love coming and seeing friends, working with new classmates and challenging themselves. We cannot say enough good things about RMA and the staff. They have been wonderful and definitely have a love for teaching kids. We love being at the dojo!

Coach Carol is as good as they come!! My 5 year old son LOVES it there. We’ve tried other studios and he spent more time in line than actually doing karate. Coach Carol keeps them moving and engaged the entire session. I love how they end the class with compliments to other students and affirmations. It’s especially a treat when the parents are invited to go in some Saturdays and participate with the kids. Riverview is a hidden gem in south Portland and if I could give 10 stars, I would!

My son started here at the beginning of summer and has had so much progress since then. We signed up so that he could gain more control of his body and understand the importance of safety. I was worried that there would be too much down time during class and that he would get bored and act out but Coach Carol clearly understands that many kids struggle with down time and there is ZERO downtime in her classes. I am so happy my son is enjoying this and we plan to continue for a long time. Thank you Coach Carol for helping his confidence and self control!
