I know this was a while back, but I learned so much from Glen Soucy. I took his course, over the Winter of '05 & '06. Yes, it's been 17 years since I took his course, and I was about to turn 35. As an adult, I recognized that he was a consummate professional, and took his work very seriously. Learning to drive in Augusta, Maine, IN THE WINTER, was perfect! When I finished Glen's course, I could drive in ANY weather! I still remember the techniques that he taught me, like how he would snap his fingers, at the exact time you need to choose whether to slow down, or go through a yellow light. I still use my turn signal when I'm exiting a roundabout! He helped me build safe driving habits, and I'm still a safe driver, to this day. No moving violations, in 17 years! (Parking tickets, on the other hand...just a few! 😂) I'm seeing a lot of negative comments from younger students, who don't have the capacity to understand that someone's attitude isn't anyone else's business. Having worked in customer service, for many years, I learned this lesson early on. On the other hand, my teenage son, who has ADHD, and trouble concentrating, may be a bit stressed out by someone as serious as Glen. BUT, if you have an adolescent, who is focused, driven, and can take criticism with a grain of salt, Glen Soucy would be a great fit! Glen is human, and just like the rest of us, I'm sure there are good days and bad days. None of us has the capacity to walk in his shoes. Taking on the responsibility of being a professional drivers ed instructor, FOR 42 YEARS, at this point, is HUGE! I went searching for drivers ed for my son, and I was amazed that he hasn't retired! He deserves a very long and care free retirement! On our drives, he would share stories about his 25 years teaching in BOSTON! If you've ever driven around Boston, you can see why he knows his stuff! Teaching in Augusta, Maine is waaaayyyy easier than teaching in Boston! Glen's job requires the utmost attention to details, that his students could miss! Our safety is Glen Soucy's primary concern!
Excellent thorough instruction from Mr. Soucy that sticks! Third driver ed experience in our family, but our first time using A-1 (2015) and by far the best! Will be using for our fourth and final!!
