Just joined LA Fitness. The gym overall is just okay (-1 star for the sauna never working), but these stars are specifically for my trainer, Haven. He’s patient, never makes me feel rushed, and is super professional and helpful. You can tell he genuinely enjoys training. He goes above and beyond to align your workouts and diet plans with your goals. Even though he’s relatively new, I foresee his clientele growing fast! 5/5 Stars for him and I recommend booking with him before he’s still busy!
About LA Fitness
LA Fitness offers a comprehensive range of amenities, including state-of-the-art equipment, basketball, group fitness classes, a pool, saunas, Kids Klub, and personal training services. The gym is well-equipped, with a variety of equipment suitable for weightlifting enthusiasts. The facilities are generally well-maintained, and the gym does not tend to get overcrowded, providing a comfortable workout environment. Members have enjoyed Zumba classes with energetic instructors, and some appreciate the helpful staff who assist with setting up workouts, including 7-day trial options.
However, the establishment's lack of 24-hour operation can be a drawback, particularly for those with unconventional schedules, such as first responders. The limited operating hours may not meet everyone's needs. Many pieces of equipment are often broken or scheduled for service, with popular machines like the StairMaster frequently unavailable. The sauna and pool have been unavailable for long periods, which has disappointed some members. The locker rooms could also use some upgrades, as cleanliness and condition have been concerns. The gym environment can sometimes be stuffy and hot, with members camped out on equipment, which could benefit from better airflow, such as a large ceiling fan.
Overall, LA Fitness provides excellent facilities and a wide range of amenities at an outstanding value. While the limited hours, equipment issues, and locker room conditions may be drawbacks for some, the gym's comprehensive offerings and well-maintained equipment make it a good choice for those seeking a well-equipped fitness center.
Reviews
The gym is mid. Many pieces of equipment are often broken. Mats and foam rollers disappear. Sauna and pool have been unavailable for long periods of time. Members camp out on individual pieces of equipment like they're moving in. It's super stuffy/hot and could absolutely benefit from a large ceiling fan. In my opinion, this gym is ideal for someone who needs an indoor workout occasionally but not several times per week.
Just dropped in to the Zumba classes during the 2 weeks I was visiting Maryland. The instructors are awesome. Dominique and Naarah kept it moving and grooving at high levels! I definitely will be back on my next visit!
